Sur l'adaptation de formes profilées pour la protection des barrages contre les affoullements
Faired sections for the protection of dams against scour
Docteur-ingénieur, directeur de la chaire des Constructions hydrotechniques de l'Ecole polytechnique de Wroclaw (Pologne).
The main subject of this study is the dissipation of energy downstream from a dam apron. The advantages of obstacles with a convex upstream face are considered theoretically, followed by a description of the experimental installation (Figs 5 and 6) and the tests results. Tabulated experimental data show that the proposed arrangements result in considerably reduced scour (Test. No. 7). Obstacle shape details are shown in Fig. 11. Figure 12 shows states of scour on various energy dissipation obstacles after 1, 2 and 3 hours' testing time, from which the reduced scour associated with convex obstacles is clearly seen.
