Abstract
Interpretation of complex meteorological phenomena is made easier by the analysis of data from various sensor devices on a common grid. A processing system called SARAH has been developed. The data supplied by the geo-stationary satellite METEOSTAT and digital data radars (MELODI, RONSARD...) are replaced on a grid drawn according to a universally used projection (Lambert. Mercator...). These fields are then displayed on an interactive picture processing system called the METEOSCOPE. As an example a joint satellite and radar analysis obtained from data recorded during the LANDES 79 campaign is given with particular reference to the detailed study of the shape and evolution of precipitation bands.
