Abstract
The Rhone-Mediterranean-Corsica Water Agency was prime contractor for the study of the hydraulic development plan for the Saone intended to limit the impact of overflowing highwaters which came in Spring and which were very damaging to agricultural activity. The phases of this study consisted successively of: getting to know the workings of the hydrosystem, assessing a very diversified series of elementary scenarios, deciding on an appropriate choice of combined scenarios and finally proposing a development plan designed with a view to preserving recognized zones of ecological interest. The information acquired from this study in terms of methodological development is considerable and will no doubt be profitable for other studies of this type.
