Abstract
An ESPRIT programme ELTRAMOS Project addresses the electronic trading of software and expertise by suppliers of simulation modelling services to SMEs in the domain of hydroinformatics applications. The Project aims at the development and validation of a new work environment for small engineering companies. As a feasibility study ELTRAMOS experiment consists in testing a specific platform built during the project in order to assess the impact of electronic trading on the associated market and to lay down the basis for future commercial exploitation. The impact is auto-evaluated within the Project framework by the participating SMEs in terms of their economical performance. The cultural impact on SMEs and educational aspects related to the use of ELTRAMOS is assessed by the participating academic organisations. In this sense the ELTRAMOS project aims to prepare a market of net-oriented services in the domain of hydraulic engineering studies. which is in some aspects close to recently growing up Application Service Providers' (ASP) services.
