Quel rôle pour l'état en matière de défense contre la mer ?
Is coastal erosion a government issue?
Chef du bureau du littoral et du domaine public maritime, DTMPL
Abstract
Ensuring appropriate and ecologically responsible coastal protection measures is a complex issue. It also involves numerous institutions such as different level of local authorities. The Government is in charge of enacting appropriate regulations on coastal protection based on coastal zone management mechanisms that can ensure protection and sustainable economic opportunities given the natural resources of both the marine and terrestrial components of the coastal zone. The Government can also contribute financially to projects that qualify up to these standards (Around 60 millions E are available over the 2000-2006 period)
