Abstract
Built in the second part of the 19th century with a view to interconnecting navigable rivers. the Neste Canal has consolidated a hydraulic system of 17 Gascony rivers whose local residents have had to share the same destiny and the same hopes. Along the years, the recharging of this system has had different purposes. Today, and particularly since 1990, the objectives of boosting low flows and keeping a durable irrigated agriculture have called for a 'citizen approach', full of promise in the sharing of water.
