Abstract
The knowledge of flow and sediment transport in storm-water tanks is necessary for their design. The flow and sediment transport in a pilot is studied using two different three-dimensional modellings: the first one is monophasic and describes the free surface as a “Symmetry Plane” (SP) ; the second one is the biphasic “Volume Of Fluid” model (VOF). Resuspension of particles hitting the bed of the tank is taken into account using a “Bed Shear Stress” condition (BSS) whereas the “Trap” condition does not. Deposit location and efficiency are calculated by particle tracking and compared with experimental results.
