Abstract
A quick survey of the history of high performance scientific computing and simulation at CEA introduces the current computing center compared to national and international ones. Scientific cooperation policy is a strong asset for the CEA program. The CEA policy is to develop the use of numerical simulation in all its activity domains; adequate investment for its central computing facilities would be provided and software development will be facilitated. Future of scientific computing and some possible practical paths are discussed.
