Abstract

A hydrological ensemble prediction system for the Alpine region was setup and tested in real-time from June to November 2007. Several flood forecasting chains, combining meteorological ensemble predictions, surface measurements or radar data and hydrological models issued ensemble runoff forecasts for a number of basins. The interaction with end users and their feedback was useful to better understand potentials and limitations of such flood forecasting systems. Results for basins where operational forecasts were issued within the MAP D-PHASE project are presented.

Résumé

Un système de prédiction hydrologiques d'ensemble a été construit pout les Alpes et testé en temps réel de Juin à Novembre 2007. Différentes chaînes de prévision de crues combinant prévision météo d'ensemble, mesures de surface ou donnés radar ainsi que modélisation hydrologique ont produit des prévisions d'ensemble de débit pour de nombreux bassins. L'interaction avec les utilisateurs finaux et leur retour ont été utiles pour mieux comprendre le potentiel et les limites de tel système de prédiction de crues. Les résultats pour les basins pour les quels des prédictions ont été effectuées dans le cadre du projet MAP D-PHASE sont présentés.
