L'analyse par fonctions. Application à l'hydrométrie
Analysis by functions applied to hydrometry
Chef du service " Milieux naturels " à l'Agence de bassin Seine-Normandie
Abstract
Quantified information is becoming more and more necessary for knowing and restoring natural environnement. This information must be gathered during long observation periods, and will be used by various institutions aiming at various objectives. This is why it is difficult to rationalize production, storage and diffusion of the information about environnement. "Analysis by functions" is a method which contributes to this effort of rationalization, defining the concepts of "fields" and "functions". This method is described, and illustrated by the case of activities using hydrometric data: it brings some quantification, which may help measure networks and data banks to become more able to satisfy the needs of the users; applied to the concrete case of the Armançon basin, the method helps justifying, on both technical and financial plan, a project of development of the hydrometric measure network.
