Abstract
In Tarn et Garonne, department crossed by the rivers Garonne, Tarn, Aveyron and their numerous tributaries, the government set up an ambitious policy, on three years time, to regain the expansion fields of the floods. By the end of 1999, 194 "communes" out of 195 will be covered by a prevention scheme against the risks of flooding. In 76 000 acres, that is to say 10% of the department superficy, new constructions will be forbidden, except those linked with agricultural activities or for the river purpose.
