The vulnerability of Paris heavy transport networks in the case of a severe flood

Abstract
The Conseil Général des Ponts et Chaussées has to carry out a study with the aim of enlightening decisions to be reached for protecting the heavy transport networks in the Paris district against floods. Were studied successively: the caracteristics of the 1910 flood in Paris and its impact on the transport network of this time, the reference flood for the studies, the actual situation of the network and its vulnerability in the case of the reference flood, the prevention principles adopted by RATP and SNCF.
