Abstract

The specificities of the groundwaters, their knowledge approach and their exploitation, the competition or complementarity with surface waters should neither hide the interdependance that links underground and surface waters, nor stop the management and the protection of water resources. Groundwaters are both nearness and quality resources which greatly participate to the water supply in France, regulate surface waters and are a factor of durability for many aquatic media.
