Abstract
A rainfall measurement value is subject to a number of uncertainties: without a control of the measurement using neighbouring stations and well defined control procedures, its value remains doubtful. On the other hand, once provento be plausible, this measurement becomes the most important basic information for a large number of hydrological applications, including the design of structures. This contribution presents quality control procedures for rainfall measurements obtained both by weather radar and by traditional raingauges.
