Homogénéisation des séries françaises de précipitations couvrant le 20e siècle
Homogenization of French rainfall long term data series
Météo-France, Direction de la Climatologie
Abstract
Since 1994, Météo-France has sped up effort on search, data rescue and homogenization of long series of weather measurements. This allowed the built-up of a data base of 226 homogeneous monthly series of rainfall over the 20th century. Rainfall exhibits usually positive trends, but without very strong geographical coherence. A seasonal approach exhibits enhanced pluviometric contrasts : more rainfall during winter and less during summer. The evolution of the De Martonne drought index (also established using homogenized temperature series) exhibits weak trends.
