Découpage et première caractérisation des masses d'eau souterraine dans le bassin Artois Picardie
Identification and first characterisation of ground water bodies in the Artois-Picardie basin
Agence de l'Eau Artois-Picardie
Abstract
To answer the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC), a national exercise of identification of groundwater "water bodies" has been made. In the Artois-Picardie basin, we identified 17 water bodies with 5 cross border and 3 cross district water bodies. The areas vary from 370 to 2 900 km2. In order to determine the qualitative and quantitative state of the water bodies, the directive imposes the implementation of surveillance points. In the Artois-Picardie basin the networks count 192 points for quality and 182 points for quantity. In the Water Framework Directive there's no method to evaluate good status, and a daughter directive must be prepared. For the moment, tests have been made with the french quality evaluation system for groundwater and have been compared with results of a statistical tool developed by the austrian Environment agency.
