Abstract
Few information, available at a national level allows to carry out surveys on groundwater quality and quantity. The data which are provided by national monitoring networks (for general knowledge or health control) show that groundwater is polluted by human activities (especially nitrates and pesticides). This pollution may sometimes exceeds authorised thresholds for drinking water production; contamination is not the same all over the territory (west regions are particularly concerned).
